FCA’s problem is that its emissions record in the U.S. is bad and time to fix it is running short.
“FCA doesn’t have the resources to fulfill the emissions requirements,” said Maryann Keller, an independent auto-industry consultant in Stamford, Connecticut.
FCA had 13.8 million credits saved up by September 2014, the latest date for which data are available.
To comply, FCA must improve faster than bigger and richer rivals who also are straining to cut emissions. |

Ford Delays Sales Report Due To Fire |

The rest of the U.S. auto industry is expected to report October auto sales on Tuesday, Nov. 1.
“The fire at an electrical substation interrupted power to Ford World Headquarters and the adjacent Ford Credit office buildings, as well as to one of the company’s main data centers that the company and its dealers use to report and track sales,” Ford said in a written statement.
For the entire industry, forecasters widely expect auto sales to decline in October 2016 vs. October 2015.
In Ford’s case, Kelly Blue Book forecasters predicted Ford and Lincoln sales combined would decline about 11 percent from a year ago.

In an editorial, the China Daily urged Trump to recognize the importance of close economic ties between China and the United States.
The China Daily article did not give further details and the NDRC did not respond to requests for comment.
Jason Miller, a spokesman for the transition team, said on Wednesday that members of the team were aware of the China Daily report but that it would be premature to comment.
